Two weeks ago, the Taytay United Methodist Christian School celebrated its 26th founding anniversary. As what we experienced for the past 4 years in high school, and 4 years in elementary, the Foundation week was one of the most awaited events by the students to celebrate with. As the student council officers change every year, there are also changes in celebrating the foundation week. the celebration of the said event sometimes depends on what the student government / student council ' s decision. That's why students vote s.g. / s.c. presidents that they think that could manage the foundation week, and could make the foundation week memorable especially for the fourth year students.
The school always starts the founding anniversary through the Joint worship. Monday, the start of the foundation week, we attended the chapel service. We must thank God for another bountiful year He has given to us. Then, the rest of the hours, we had our practices and the dry run for the Field demo. different food booths were everywhere so there's no reason for you to be hungry, unless you don't have money.
Tuesday, Ms. Angeline Cayetano, our new principal, officially opened the celebration of the Foundation week.We had our parade around the San Isidro, wearing our jerseys. I expected that we would have a parade like the other school has, especially public schools who want publicity. After that, we had our Mr. and Ms. Intrams, where C.J. Delgado and Jeff Francisco won. Our section's representative were Brilliant Cruz and Evan Garcia. They compete fairly and gave their best, but maybe, that title are not for them. Then, in the afternoon, we had our every year tradition, the Field Demo. We must give our best to this event because our grade in M.A.P.E.H. is based on our performance. There are three events: the cheering competition, the modern dance competition and the ballroom dance. Every section performed well but only one section must win. Mostly, the cheering competition tease other year levels that could make each competitors annoyed. The third year won the first place in cheering. Well, they really deserved it, seeing their practices in the middle of the street. The third year also won the ballroom competition, but still, the fourth year won the modern dance competition.
We thought that, " mahahakot ng third year ang mga awards ngayong foundation week." Other students always tell those lines to fourth year students. Unexpectedly, even our year mates also say that " matatalo kayo ng third year." We expect their full support especially to us, players in volleyball and basketball. Our first game last Wednesday in volleyball was David vs. Rachel. We had a great fight, brotherhood and unity was build among the first six of our section in volleyball. We have a fair fight, unexpectedly, we lost the game. Maybe, because other 4th year students don't trust us to win that game, they don't cheer us up. I was so disappointed. This is my second year of playing volleyball in foundation week, the first time was when I'm in 1st year high school. I didn't have chance to play volleyball in my 2nd year because the competition was by year level and when I was in third year, I had my second time of having chicken pox so I need to missed my foundation week experience. Our last game was against Solomon. I had a little misunderstanding with one of our teammate, but we used to settle it down, after the game. So, we lost, I mean, they lost the game.
Sportsmanship must be in the center of the game. Fairness and camaraderie must be applied. We must accept our defeats. In every competition, there is a winner. We are studying in a Christian school so we need to apply everything that we learned not only inside the campus but everywhere we go and to everyone we met. At least, you know that you did your part and your very best. This is might our last year in T.U.M.C.S., but in our hearts, we still continuously support the activities in our Alma Mater, and will always look back for the lessons that we learned inside the school, in each activities or even inside our classrooms.
